A common myth among cat owners is that if their cat never goes outdoors, they do not need to go to the veterinarian for annual check-ups and vaccines. It can be true that indoor cats can have less health issues than cats that go outdoors, but the Rabies vaccine is required by law and indoor cats can still develop dental issues, allergies, kidney, heart or liver disease and diabetes. It is recommended that senior cats be seen by their vet twice a year and have blood work ran to monitor their overall health.
